Tianjiu- Allergy Relief Therapy

“My son William is 4 years old and has frequent eczema due to seafood allergy since born. The previous episodes were mostly mild with the use of antihistamine and steroid creams. Some time ago, he accidentally ate an eel and triggered the eczema again but was much more severe and lasted for more than two months. This attack started with rashes on the wrists, back of the knees, underarms, and gradually evolved to the neck, behind the ears, buttocks, underneath the scrotum and perineum. He couldn’t help scratching the skin and soon his whole body was scratched with bleedings and wounds. All we could do was covering the scratches and broken skin with dressings every day however since the itchiness was so severe that he cannot stop scratching even during sleep, he ended up having new bleedings on top of the old scars that looked miserable and terrible.

“The kindergarten teachers also worried about my son’s skin and helped him to change the dressings every day. We have been seeing the family doctor in the past a few years and were always prescribed the same allergy medications for daily consumption. As you can see, it did not provide much help to the situation but only for temporary relieves. So for this time, we were referred to an allergy specialist but not unexpectedly, my son was prescribed more allergy medicines and again, it did not do any good even after two weeks of the medications, he still suffers from all sorts of symptoms from the severe allergy.

“The eczema and itchiness were so bad that he couldn’t sleep at night but kept waking up and crying all night long. When he was not sleeping, we the parents were unable to sleep too and got extremely tired the next day.

“Feeling desperate, I called Jenny Li, who relieved my 5-year-old daughter’s respiratory allergy for help. I am also a big fan of Jenny myself since she helped me with various muscular problems of stiff neck and low back pain 15 years ago, I certainly have a strong faith on her and the Chinese Medicine she practices.

“I checked with Jenny about my son’s condition to see if it is safe for him to have acupuncture, Jenny gave us a positive answer and made an appointment for William on 28th July. The treatment was about 40 minutes with a consultation and assessment to his skin and finger prints, and followed by the treatment. The treatment was using very fine needles named “micro needle” and did not appear to be very painful for a 4 years old boy.

“After the treatment, to my biggest surprise and greatest appreciation, his sleep was significantly improved straight away in that night that he only woke up twice and not crying, also for the first time ever, he said he felt a “little cold” whereas he would always complain about being “too hot” in the bed and started scratching. We could manage to have some sleep too.

“The improvement was absolutely amazing that the eczema on his body has been significantly subsided since then and lasted for two weeks to when I am writing the review now. At present, there is only small rashes on his wrists and back of the knees but are predominantly gone. He still scratches these areas when in warm environment such as inside the house, but he is blessed to no longer have the itchiness interfering with sleep! Chinese Medicine is wonderful!
